Boccia England Launches Workforce People Plan.
People always have and always will play a vital part in the development and delivery of boccia. Without them, our sport would not be where it is today, and most community activities and events would struggle to operate smoothly.
The new People Plan will guide the work of Boccia England for the next three years in supporting our existing volunteer workforce and developing new volunteers as we seek to grow and provide new opportunities for people to play the most inclusive sport in the world.
We will recruit, support, and develop the workforce so that they can achieve lifelong enjoyment from giving their time to help others. We will also effectively monitor and evaluate the role of volunteers within the sport and grow the research and insight that has been actioned.
The Workforce People Plan sets out 43 actions to be achieved by the end of 2027, which are spread across four pillars of the plan

Speaking about the launch of the new plan Will Evans, Boccia England CEO, said,
“We are really pleased to publish our People Plan today. It provides us with a really strong and positive guide to support our current volunteers, as well as to recruit and develop new people into our sport.”
Stacey Reed, Boccia England’s Partnership and Engagement Manager, formally our People Development Manager commented,
“We are so incredibly proud of our volunteers and grateful for everything they do to support us. We see every day the power that boccia has to change lives for the better, not just for players but for volunteers too. We want to share that with as many people as we can, but we know that we have to focus on doing everything we can to support our volunteers and give them all of the tools and opportunities they need. This plan will help us to achieve that, and we look forward to achieving the goals it sets out over the next three years.”
