Earlier in April, Boccia England joined forces with the Civil Service Sports Council to host a Boccia Leaders course at the Seashell Trust in Manchester. The partnership brought together volunteers, local residents, and community groups with a shared goal – to grow our sport and make it even more accessible to all.
The course welcomed 18 enthusiastic participants, each eager to develop their skills and understanding of boccia. Throughout the session, attendees engaged in hands-on learning, exchanged ideas, and built connections, creating a collaborative and energising environment. The day was a clear success, driven by a collective passion for inclusion and community sport.
The energy carried seamlessly into the afternoon, as the venue transformed into a lively boccia festival. Young children were invited to try the sport for the very first time, many discovering a new favourite activity. With smiles all around, plenty of encouragement, and a selection of fun freebies and goodies, the festival created a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone involved.
It was more than just an event—it was a celebration of community spirit and the power of sport to bring people together. Participants left feeling inspired, motivated, and ready to continue building momentum in their own communities.
