The road to the 2026 Boccia England National Championship Finals reached its conclusion in Sunderland on Sunday 19 July, with the final BC5–BC8 qualifying event completing this year’s qualification process.
Over the past four months, 110 athletes from across England have competed across five qualifying events in Cheltenham, Bolton, Crawley, Warwick and Sunderland, earning qualifying points in pursuit of a place at September’s National Championship Finals.
This year marks the first full season of BC5–BC8 athletes competing as an integral part of Boccia England’s National Championships following the competition review. The new format has created more competitive opportunities than ever before, with athletes able to count their best three performances from the five qualifying events towards their final ranking.
The BC5–BC8 National Championship Finals will take place on Saturday 5 September at the David Ross Sports Village, University of Nottingham, where England’s leading athletes will compete for national titles across the BC5, BC6, BC7 and BC8 classifications.
The final qualifying points tables are now available to view. Athletes who have qualified for the National Championship Finals are highlighted in blue and marked with a ‘Q’ alongside their name.
Will Evans, Chief Executive of Boccia England, said:
“This has been an exciting first year of our new National Championship format, with BC5–BC8 athletes competing as an integral part of our national championship programme. We’ve seen excellent competition throughout the qualifying events, and it’s been fantastic to see so many players battling for places at the Finals.
“The standard of play has continued to improve throughout the season, and we are looking forward to welcoming the country’s top BC5–BC8 athletes to Nottingham in September to compete for the title of National Champion.”
