New Clubs Join the Boccia England Community

We’re delighted to welcome three new clubs to the Boccia England community! These clubs—based in Essex, Yorkshire, and Merseyside—are expanding access to our sport and creating regular opportunities for people in new parts of the country to play, volunteer, and get involved in the most inclusive sport in the world.

Supported by our Partnership and Engagement Manager, Stacey Monk-Reed, these new additions reflect the growing passion for boccia and the commitment of local leaders to create more inclusive spaces through sport.

Get to know each of our new clubs below. If you’d like more information or are interested in starting a club in your area, reach out to Stacey at sreed@bocciaengland.org.uk

Boccia For All – Essex

Boccia For All is a brand-new club based in Basildon, with plans to expand across Essex as its programme develops. Launched in partnership with Sport for Confidence, this innovative club is built on a unique model that pairs Occupational Therapists with Sports Coaches to deliver inclusive physical activity sessions.

Currently, more than 200 participants and carers engage in boccia through Sport for Confidence—demonstrating a strong and growing interest in the sport. Recognising the need for a dedicated community club, Sport for Confidence helped establish Boccia For All to provide ongoing support and progression for its players.

Co-founded by Sonny, a former participant, and Coach Pippa, the club offers a clear pathway for players looking to take their boccia journey further. It serves as a natural progression from introductory sessions to a more structured, developmental environment—ensuring that everyone who wants to play can continue doing so at their own pace.

Enable You – Merseyside

Enable You is a Liverpool-based charity that has recently become an affiliated Boccia England club. Led by Alan, who has just completed his Boccia Leaders training, the club is now ready to grow its presence and impact throughout the Liverpool area.

With a strong commitment to inclusion and community engagement, Enable You is creating meaningful opportunities for local people to get involved in boccia, whether as players or volunteers.

Halifax Boccia Club – Yorkshire

In Yorkshire, Halifax Boccia Club has recently launched thanks to the vision and dedication of Emma, a qualified badminton coach passionate about inclusive sport. Emma set out to create a welcoming space for people with physical and learning disabilities to come together and enjoy sport in a supportive environment.

Working collaboratively with Sense, Badminton England, Boccia England, and Calderdale Borough Council, the club now offers sessions in both badminton and boccia.

With support from Calderdale Borough Council, Emma has recently completed her Boccia Leaders training and is now focused on building the club’s reach across the Halifax area, providing more opportunities for people of all abilities to participate and thrive.
