Sunderland’s Beacon of Light was the venue for the final round of National Championship Qualifying, with vital qualifying points on the table for September’s Finals.
A first visit to Sunderland for Boccia England competitions saw close fought contests as athletes across classifications fought for the last points in the race to qualify for this season’s finals.
Places in Nottingham and Stoke Mandeville were still available in all classifications. Saturday saw athletes compete in BC1 – BC3 classifications, with their BC5 – BC8 colleagues following on the Sunday. All were aiming to secure the points they needed to be at the Finals.
Updated qualifying points tables will be published in the near future, with confirmation of which athletes will be on the entry list for the Finals.
