Super League Boccia returned for the 2026 season with an exciting opening matchday in Sheffield.
The leading eight boccia teams in England came together in Sheffield for the opening rounds of Super League fixtures, hosted by Boccia Sheffield at their Talbot School base.
After three rounds of fixtures, Southern All Stars and The GEMs emerged with 100% records. Southern All Stars sit on top of the table on points difference. With the two teams facing each other in the first fixture of Matchday 2 one of those records will be lost next time around.
Third-placed East Herts Boccia Shooting Stars took their opening two matches, including beating hosts Sheffield Rebels. Their only defeat came in the final round of fixtures against the Breakaways.
Transport difficulties meant that Herne Bay Herons were forced to forfeit their first two matches but regrouped to fulfill their final fixture, losing a narrowly 5-4 to Paul’s Place Barbarians.
